The Final

When I begin to think of the master piece academy these are the things that come to mind.
-Nature
-Art
-Higher thinking of the political systems
- the purpose that we are all here on earth
- healthy life styles
what I took away from these two weeks of the master pieces is that everyone has very different levels of what they think is acceptable for a grade. and number two is that peoples main interest literally range from the dirt on the ground to the planets in the sky.
  • Element one
  • As far as the trust me and my classmates were given during this course I wouldn't say that we abused it but I don't think we should have had as much leeway as we did, although I do understand the method behind it. I think we did earn it because of all of the three years we have spent to try ad earn that trust and then we finally get it. but then as soon as we get it, it was also like along with that we had twenty other things to worry about all at the same time.
  • Element three
  •  I don't think I have quit found the passion that drives me but my master piece was definitely o something that sparked a fire in me and mad me a little angry. hopefully what im majoring in will draw me in more as I begin to study it.
  • Element four
  • one moment that actually made me laugh is something that happened today. when Dr. Preston took the sparkling juice from me ad tried to open it on the table made my life because it looked like he was trying to break his hand. Another moment was Bridget's master piece, I don't really think I need to say anymore.
  • Element five
    • One thing I found that ran through a lot of presentations is the theme of finding yourself whether it be through nature or other things. ( Stephanie and Hayley's, Haylee's, Terry, Meagan and Edgar) Meagan talked about finding yourself with a passion that you want to peruse in life through a career, hers being journalism. Terry found himself in nature and captured his love for it by bringing other students along on a journey with him. Stephany and Hayley did that as well. But the other Haylee captured finding yourself through materialistic things ad decorating to make your surroundings as comfortable as possible. Edgar showed personification I his presentation connecting us with street art and helping us get in touch with our inner artist.
  • Element six
  • I would say I am on my way to being a hero. I haven't quit mastered it yet but I will get it soon.

Brave New World Essay

Many times we get stuck in situations where we conform to ideals that we do not truly believe in because of a forced feeling. We think one Way in our mind, but our actions speak differently. So which one does this make us? Are we still truly the person who believes bullying is wrong. Or the person who laughs with everyone else when someone slips and falls down the steps instead of going to lend a helping hand. These are the very things that contribute to outward conformity and inward questioning.

In huxleys "A Brave New World" Bernard faces quit a few struggles with being an outsider. Beeing seen as a mistake, Bernard prohibits himself from Sharing his views out of fear of being alienated even more than he already is. Throughout the book he feels jealousy, loneliness, anger, and confusion all the things that he was created not to feel. All the things that make him exceptionally different from everyone else. His views are different, he isn't just trying to go out and create babies with everyone he wants a connection something real.which is also an obstacl because of his height, and the fact that the Elites made fun of him. But through all of Bernard's beliefs he still wanted to be an elite because they were the in crowd and he wasent. But after going to the reservation, and becoming socially accepted his actions changed. He was no longer shy and timid. He made it well known that he didn't believe in how everyone was treating sex like it was just something to do.

By use of indirect characterization the reader can see that Bernard is different because he actually feels for Lenina

Issac Asimov video

Watching this interview with Issac Asimov brought to light two things for me. One issue as he quotes is " everyone is forced to learn the same thing at the same time on the same day at the same speed in class. And everyone is different for some it goes to fast or too slow or even in the wrong direction". When Asimov said this it jumped right in my face because it has been something that I have struggled with for the past three years of high school. I don't learn like everyone else, it takes me time and repetition in order to get something and have it locked down in my brain. But in high school most teachers are so focused on trying to get you through the curriculum that they rarely take time to stop and ask the simple question of " hey, is everyone understanding this?" And if they do ask and it happens to be infront  of the whole class you don't want to say anything out of fear that your going to look or sound stupid. In the end it just makes a student want to throw in the towl when they are putting forth the effort but not receive the attention they need to excel in a subject. That brings me to another point that Asimov hit on, the computers in your home acting as a personal tutor. Even though this video was made quite some time ago, I agree that this is something that should still definitely be sought after. One on one attention  is so critical in learning for some people that I think this would greatly improve the want to learn and the understanding of different subjects touched upon in school.

Hamlet essay

"Though this be madness, yet there is method in't" brings a very hidden aspect to Hamlet. This quote speaks to me that what everybody else is seeing from the outside may not be how it really is on the inside and secondly it's a method to distraction. Hamlets  diversion is a key component to this play especially in the first acts of the play, miss guiding everyone of his shrewd persona. Polonius states this quote in act two scene two to justify why he was spying on Hamlet. Polonius believes Hamlet is sane but thinks he is acting out as a distraction or a “method”. this partially  confirms to hamlet that polonius is on to what he is doing and his technique to mislead others. This quote is so important because it was the first time anyone was really able to see what hamlet was doing and how he was fooling everyone.
Tone was more than pressing to keep track of in this play because without knowing the tone, a lot of the lines could have been misinterpreted . happy definitely wouldn't be the word I would use to describe the tone of this play. try fearful, clever, mournful, mocking, paranoid, the list could really go on forever. The central theme wasn't hard to recognize either. I found the theme to portray that even though what your seeing from the outside may not make sense, it does to the person on the inside. its weird because my mom used to always tell me "trust me it may not make sense what im doing now, but it will later". and that's mainly why I chose this quote because as soon as we talked about it in class I automatically made the connection to what my mother had said. nobody knew what hamlet was doing, they just though he was crazy. but sooner then later they all discovered that he really hadn't gone mad at all. that in fact, they all were the mad ones.
